Update 10th September Firstly, we hope that you well and coping ok with the disruption caused by this latest Covid outbreak. The CWEA Council (governing body) met last week to discuss the ramifications for us at the WEA. As you will likely be aware our building is undergoing sizeable renovations at the moment. These have meant we have been operating at reduced capacity (with one room out of action and the hall reduced in size) and also with temporary kitchen and toilets. The configuration of these facilities means that even under Alert Level 2 we do not feel able to safely keep people 1m apart. With the uncertainty of how long we will be at Level 2 and our reduced capacity to keep people distanced within the building, we have therefore made the very difficult decision to cancel most remaining classes for Term 3. The exception this this is items that were planned to be held off site. We have offered refunds for all the classes missed due to COVID. Some students have already indicated that they will not be wanting a refund and that instead their fee can be seen as a donation to the WEA. We wish to say a huge thank you to anyone that chooses to support the WEA in this way. We will be working with tutors to reschedule items for term 4 which we are planning to start in November. Sending you all best wishes and hope that we can meet again at the WEA soon. October 12th, 2021 News
