Throughout history women have often been the power behind the throne but there have also been several who broke through patriarchal restrictions to lead their nation, country or empire to glory! This course will look at a dozen women throughout history from ancient to modern years, from Britain to Russia to China. We will consider their background, upbringing, succession, and influence alongside their male and female contemporaries.
