Starts 17th October 10am–12noon
17 October 2022 - 5 December 2022
8 weeks, 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM
This course is for anyone wanting to write or wanting to give more time to their writing. Linda has a Master’s Degree in Creative Writing and enjoys seeing people sharing and discussing their personal experience through writing. She says: “the premise here, is that those with the desire to write have something worth saying. As a tutor, I am a facilitator. Where I can, I will model examples of writing or ideas which might initiate a writing project. This does not produce uniformity, because each individual has their own things to say and, it is this diversity of opinion and expression which contributes to an ongoing supply of fresh ideas. This course is not a syllabus of prepared lessons but an open question: 'Where are you going next?’. At the end of each term, people are consulted about what areas they would be interested in and then we can start developing these into tools for a personal writer's toolbox. In the past we have studied poetry forms, how they work and can be applied, novel and short story plotting, how to use dialogue and the art of shaping a personal memoir. This course is designed for all-comers and is not dependent on an established level of expertise; it is for everyone interested in making words talk. Please note there will be no class on 24th October as it is Labour Day.
