Becoming a grandparent is huge. It can feel even more intense than becoming a parent, but this time you’ve got a different role and responsibilities. Support the new family in your life with advice, updates, and a refresher in hands-on baby care. In this workshop we’ll cover the following:
1. Supporting new parents
As you become a grandparent, your child becomes a parent. New parents need to find their own way, so it’s important to be accepting of their values and ideas, even if they’re different to your own. We’ll look at how you can support new parents in a gentle, mindful way.
2. Safe, gentle baby care
Make your grandchild feel secure, keep them safe, and support their development. Learn techniques to make lifting, changing, dressing, feeding, and bathing your grandchild easier and more fun for you both.
3. An update on baby care best practice
Baby care best practice may have changed a bit since you had your kids. So, we’ll do a refresher on handy things like safe sleeping, feeding solids, and any other skills you’d like a quick update on.
Andrea keeps the workshops small (max 8), so there’s plenty of time to talk about your experience of becoming a grandparent, ask questions, and compare notes with other new grandparents.
