Description

Mindful drawing focuses on the process of drawing. It clears space in the mind, encourages new perspectives and is an ideal practice to explore and expand creativity.

It is particularly useful to those who experience the limiting aspects of perfectionism, but also great fun for anyone who wants to embrace playful creativity and expand their drawing practice.

You will undertake drawing exercises designed to encourage experimentation and relaxed, open-minded focus. You will also be guided through techniques that facilitate being aware of what you’re sensing/feeling/doing in the moment, without interpretation or judgment.

The course is appropriate for beginners through to experienced artists, a diverse class environment encouraging cross-pollination of ideas and techniques.

Classes will be small, capped at 12 students. Media will be varied and some supplied.

Please note there will not be a class on Friday 17th November as it is Canterbury Show Day.

Student supplied materials required:

  • A3 Cartridge drawing pad,
  • Paper: Fabriano Accademia 200gsm (about 5 sheets),
  • Blending stump(s),
  • Graphite pencils: 2B, 4B, 6B & 8B,
  • Kneadable eraser.
