This course is for anyone wanting to write or wanting to give more time to their writing. Linda has a Master’s Degree in Creative Writing and enjoys seeing people sharing and discussing their personal experience through writing. She says: “After four years of teaching creative writing, I have learnt to ditch the idea of an organized syllabus and work with the issues that arise for individuals about writing as they occur. As no two people have the same experiences or issues, this becomes something of a smorgasbord . The underpinning themes of the course are always about tactics and techniques and more recently as our current times are so uncertain and changeable and people’s reason for what and how they write are becoming pretty fluid. However, throughout each semester, tactics and techniques covering story writing, memoir writing, poetry and play writing are always on the table.
At the end of each term, people are consulted about what areas they would be interested in and then we can start developing these into tools for a personal writer's toolbox.” This course is designed for all-comers and is not dependent on an established level of expertise; it is for everyone interested in making words talk.
Please note there is no class on 23rd October as it is Labour Day.
