SEWING BASICS: FINGERLESS GLOVES

Saturday 27th May, 1-4.30pm, $31

Description

Get ready for the cooler months with your own custom made short mittens. Using repurposed merino, fleece and stretch fabrics you will make a pattern to fit yourself or others and spend the afternoon putting your gloves together with extra adornment as you see fit. Suitable for any age and ability, using both hand and machine stitching. Come along and learn a new skill or build on the ones you have. Ruth (aka the Sewing Fairy) is an experienced seamstress who makes unique items from new, as well as altering that op shop find. She says that things can always be repaired or remade so: “don’t ditch it, fix it”.

Find her on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/nzsewingfairy .

Bring your sewing machine if you have one (not compulsory). A selection of materials will be provided but feel free to bring an item to upcycle or some fabric if you wish.
