With the general election looming brush up or deepen your understanding of all things politics in 4 weeks. Join Quentin Findlay for seminars looking at different aspects of New Zealand’s election landscape.  Explore:

-Electoral Systems – Proportionality and representation

-Political behaviour – why people vote the way they do

-Political Terminology – why is the left, left and the right, right?

-Why Vote?  What has democracy and Parliament achieved?

Quentin Findlay has a PhD in New Zealand Political History, specializing in the NZ labour movement and the NZ Labour Party in the early part of the 20th century.  He has lectured and tutored in political studies and history at the University of Otago and at Lincoln University.  He has also been an active participant in the political process, having previously worked in Parliament.
