Liberalism, Conservatism, Authoritarianism, Progressivism, Sexism, Racism, Feminism, Masculinism, Capitalism, Socialism, Communism... our language is filled with many broad sweeping terms that seem both to express so much but to explain very little. How do they differ, and what do they have in common? What do the terms actually refer, and what do they not? In this course we unpack and explore many of these words/concepts, and discuss many of the philosophical issues with which they each have to contend.
