Description

Italy's history is filled with complicated, but fascinating history.  Our journey will start with a historical excursion through the Roman Empire, pass through the disintegration of the Middle Ages, the inter-state strife and competition of the various regional powers, the powerful resurgence of the Renaissance, and the triumphant Risorgimento leading to the Unification of Italy, two world wars and much more.   From Ancient Rome to Venice, the Papacy to Pisa, the mainland and the islands, we will look at the various events in Italian history and how they shape the modern nation.
